Make sure you get a Deep Cycle Battery, not a cranking battery. Walmart carries them.

Costco (Kirkland) batteries are made by Johnson Controls and are consistantly rated very high. I don't know who makes the WalMart batteries but they are rated as pretty good too.

BUT, you only have one battery? If you do any boondocking (camping without power) you probably need two.

Jaybird, I personally replaced ours with an Optima deep cycle (yellow top) battery. VERY expensive battery, but has a good warranty and good "amps". The two big pluses for this battery are; never needs water, and does not need venting. Also, they have a very high resistance to vibration, although that shouldn't be a problem in our RV's. I've had it in for over two years now, no problems. If you buy an Optima, watch for a sale. They have them every so often. Costco also sells the Optimas, but it's the blue top, which is a Marine starting/deep cycle battery. It might work just fine, don't have any experience with that one though. As has been mentioned before, make SURE you have the fully automatic (three stage) charging converter. Usually, the RV's do NOT come with one. I have the IOTA 75, and just bought the add on "smart charging" accessory (easy plug in) for it. With any battery, but especially an Optima battery, that is a critical item.
