e-z flex

I'm interested in upgrading my suspension. Has anyone used the dexter e-z flex? If so is it worth it and how hard to do?

I replaced ours with the E-Z Flex system earlier this year with the help of a friend and it took us about 2 1/2 hours to do. It was well worth it as the original system was just about worn out. If you put a lot of miles on your rig I would recommend that you have it changed out. The original nylon bushings were shot along with the hanger brackets.

It's easy to install if you have a couple of bottle jacks and a couple of floor jacks. I'd go with the wet bolt kit while your there. The Dexter EZ Flex and the Trailair Equaflex reqire the same amount of disassembly and exchange of parts ... just slightly different designs. I chose the Equaflex over the EZ Flex based on design. Here's a link to my past installation.

I upgraded based on recommendations that the nylon bushings deteriorate so readily and a sale price from Dexter.
I paid my RV Repair Shop to install them and it wasn't too much, though they had never done one before. Also, my old nylon bushings were still in good shape...
It does soften the ride, but not so much that a few drawers don't still open enroute on some rough patches of road...

My DW insisted that I have someone else do it. $400 later ) it's done.

We only have about 3000 miles on ours and a couple of the nylon bushings were totally shot and the bolts were galling pretty bad.

The first thing I noticed was the total lack of creaking & clanking when making tight turns. Hopefully that's not the only diffrence.

I just had the Morryde SRE 4000, which includes the X factor cross member installed yesterday at the Morryde plant. I also got the wet bolt kit. I can see a huge difference already. MOC members will get a 20% discount on parts while at the rally. With the discount it was $898 installed. Labor was $300 of that total.

I have the Trailair Equa Flex. I have been happy with it. I think the E Z flex is about the same. I think it was worth the effort. I went with the Equa Flex because I could buy I cheaper.

I was shocked that with less than 8000 miles on my 2005, the nylon bushings were toast and on one side I was near failure of the shackle! I had them replaced by a suspension shop and also aligned the axles, no regrets, can't do this work in a garage.

I converted to the EZ-Flex system in my backyard in about 3 hours. It is a relatively easy job but since you have to jack up one entire side of the rig at a time safety is the biggest thing. Make sure you block the fram up really well before getting under the unit. I had another person assist me so one of us could be under the rig and the other on the outside and it made it a lot easier.

I bought the EZ flex and wet bolt kit on sale from Dexter for about $180.00 An RV repair shop put them on for $200.00 I noticed a big improvement right away.

Those Nylon bushings are standard, they are only there for noise. Yes, they wear out fast because there is no lubrication for them. The bushings have nothing to do to prevent wear to the bolts.
A very cheap setup from the factory!

This why we use wet bolts for better lubrication & wear.

We went to the wet bolt after @ 9K miles on our 06 3400. The bushing were worn and some of the holes had started to elongate. I would suggest a change over at @ 9 /10K miles.

I replaced mine with ez-flex Monday. Took me about 4 hours by myself. Has anyone had any unusual tire wear after putting some miles on?
