Lubricating landing gear?

I have an 08 3585sa and after checking out the legs on the landing gear(outside) I dont see any place to lubricate them.Should you lubricate them and if yes with what(wd40,grease,etc? Thanks for any advise.

Since I just got back from the service center where my front landing gear was seizing up. Basically to unhook from my truck it would lift for a while but toward the end of the process it would seize up and the clutch would stark kicking in, loud knocking and the clutch/motor assembly would visibly rock back and forth. Finally I hand cranked it up a 1/2 inch or so and got unhooked. Took it in. They basically said it was fine except it was dirty. Their advice to me was that he legs themselves need to be fully extended once a year and all grease and grime cleaned off of the legs. Then oil it with either wd40 (their preference) or a dry lube. They work fine now. So, it sounds as though the outside of the legs need as much maintenance as do the gears at the top of the mechanism.

John and Dorothy,
I will not argue with your service center. I will ask you to check your 90 degree gears in the top of the legs. If they are rough and burred then they need to be replaced. You can look at my photos of my bad gears. I made this post because you described your motor jumping.
I feel the worm shaft is the area that needs lubricating. Best of luck.

John, I want to thank you for this and the other post you had about landing gear lube. I popped the cap off mine and poured some oil down the legs and applied some grease to the top gears, and activated through a cycle and it sure made a difference in the sound and you could tell the motor wasn't laboring as much after the lube kicked it.
