Slow shower drain

We just picked up our beautiful new 3150RL and are loving it. We are experiencing a slow shower drain. I ran water in the bathroom sink and it drains fast so the problem is just with the shower. When I look through the drain grid on the shower there seems to be a "cup" beneath, but not connected to the grid. is this supposed to be there to catch hair, etc? Do you think this is causing the drain to be slow.....sure seems like it to me.

Our shower drain runs slow when the plug is in place. We pull it out when we shower and have no more problems.

There should be a plug that is normally a bit loose in the shower drain. It can be pushed down to plug the drain if you want to. Pull it out and the water will drain faster.
