Kitchen Faucet

After only three years my kitchen faucet looks 20 years old. In addition the handle is loose and I cannot turn the hex screw to secure it. I plan to replace it with one from Home Depot. I am wondering if the connections are the same as the original one in place now or do RV fixtures have a different pipe size and would require adaptors. It's hard to tell looking under the sink. Also any suggestions as to a replacement would be welcome.

Our replacement faucet came from Lowes and was a simple switch, all needed parts were in the box and no additional parts needed to be purchased. Our criteria for the replacement was a little different, since we needed longer threads at the tap to allow for the secure addition of a quick connect fitting for our portable dishwasher. We went with a delta simply because of the warranty. Here is ours:

It also came with a soap dispenser which has since been added at the right hand corner of the sink. I don't have a picture of that yet, sorry.

We always end up replacing our faucets although quality has been better on the 2010. Fittings are pretty standard. For replacement of an older faucet, some connectors have a half moon composite washer which is best replaced rather than using the old one. Usually not provided with the new faucet, but available at any good RV parts store and some hardware stores. Just remember to not overtighten connections.

How in the world can a thread about a replacement faucet with a photo lead someone to wonder whether there are cupcakes on the counter? Someone either is on a diet or is very sugar deprived. Oh, and they are not cupcakes, it was actually a pecan supreme store bought pie that was for the week of Thanksgiving. DW bakes the pumpkin ones. The picture is from last fall at Topsail Preserve in Florida. And with that said, now all we have to do is wait for Phil (Indy roadrunner) to chime in with something inane about Armadillos or us abandoning our Thanksgiving trip to Florida this year!!

Hey Bingo. He's not the only one thinking cupcakes. I was wondering myself. Now you say it was pecan pie! Wow! Even better. And right next to that we could have some coffee to go along with that pie.

Do us a favor next time. CROP the goodies out of the picture!

So what was this topic about? Faucets? Hmmm, can't help you there much, but remove the thing (don't forget to turn off the water) and take it to the faucet store. You'll probably find a very good replacement that drops right in. This requires some handyman-ness but it's not considered difficult (spoken by someone who's replaced a couple dozen or so faucets over the past few years and no two jobs were 100% the same, but still not that bad).

Thanks for all your replies. I too have replaced many faucets in my stick homes so replacing the RV one should be doable. I realize also that there are a number of "sweet freaks" amung the "Montana freaks" out there.

Look at Ozz's mods. He has some pictures of his kitchen faucet change. I like the retractable hose feature on the faucet he chose. I will be getting one of those for my 2955.

Camping World was going to replace mine because they said it was not fixable. ( It had a slight leak, I had only owned unit for a few months) I took it apart, actually boiled the parts in water to loosen up the frozen threads of the adjusting nut. It loosened it so I could lubricate it, then reinstalled and adjusted to prevent leakage. I asked CW if I could just have the brand new replacement faucet and they said sure. Thus might be a fix for yours.
