Screen Door 2 sided handle
Would like to open the screen door from inside without sliding the mid section to reach the handle. Is there such a divice already available, or has anyone done a mod that makes this happen?

Do a google search for "rv screen door opener" and you will find one made by Camco

You might also find a few DIY solutions that are just as good (or better). I think a gander at some of Ozz's mods will include this one. It's a rod down through the top of the plastic slide and you pull up to release the screen latch.
I think that screen door section is a joke. The few times I've tried to use it as a passthrough and the objects were too wide for it. BAH! I had to open the door anyway.
May as well use the "rod mod" if you can find it.

New units have a solution. I got one from Keystone at the Fall Rally that I fitted to my 2011 screen door.
Good luck. Let us know what you do for this mod.

You'll need a 9/16" drill bit to install this one.

That opener from CW, is fine, but, for Carol, with arms full of yorkies, I really like my little wooden door knob button on the inside. I can use my elbow to tap down on it, and ta da, the screen door opens.
Nope, it is not fancy smancy, and that coat hanger is not real classy, but, hey it works for us!
You can see it better on this URL.

I guess Carol and I will just have to get by with our "Mickey Mouse devices" which were made before these fancy new devices.

Thanks to all for the photos/links of the two devices shown. We would like to keep the full motion of the sliding pass-through. I would like to see the one WaltandLynne have retrofitted. We will need to stop at a Montana dealer to take a look at the new doors that have the WaltandLynne fix. The DW will not allow Reuben Goldberg mods. Garry

Jack,
Your apology is accepted.
It's amazing how things change, several years ago our door openers were state of the art,we didn't have the luxury of a ready made door opener so we worked with what we had and somebody came up with an idea that has worked quite well. Now they are obsolete and "Rube Goldberg". Oh well, such is life.

Thanks Jack for apology, it is humbly accepted.
Totally agree with Charlie's last post, but, note with some of my unusual sick humor, that Wikipedia defines Rube Goldberg thusly:
"A Rube Goldberg machine, contraption, invention, device, or apparatus is a deliberately over-engineered or overdone machine that performs a very simple task in a very complex fashion, usually including a chain reaction. The expression is named after American cartoonist and inventor Rube Goldberg (1883-1970)."
Somehow, my simplistic clothes hanger door opener does not fit the descriptive terms "over-engineered or overdone machine". The simple task is ok, but, again, I fail to get that this opener is done in a "very complex fashion". Anyway, that's my opinion, again which as usual is worth less than 2 cents.
Now, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as we all know, but, CountryGuy and I really appreciate KISS functional and easy to install and, well, cheap! We have full motion of the slider, and guess what, a yorkie will pass through that opening. True statement.

To All that have posted,
Please accept my apology for not clearly expressing my full thoughts about the devices that were shown. I did not meam that those shown in these great posts were of the Rube Goldberg fashion. I think just the opposite that they are good and simple door opener devices that get the job done. I should have explained that it must be simple and straight forward as those are that have been offered, and not a complicated thing. I really appreciate the responses and I will try to do a better job of explaining my thoughts when posting. Garry

Garry,
Without your post I may never have learned what a 'Rube Goldberg' was. Learning something new each day is my goal, today, it was achieved. Thanks!
According to some follow up research I did:
"This year's challenge for the Rube Goldberg Machine Contest will be to inflate and pop a balloon in as many steps as imagination, resources and time will permit."
Anyone want to compete???
Oh, check out the official Rube Goldberg web site.
Cheers and good luck with your mod, Rube or not!
