Truck Codes

I am told there is a website that informs a truck owner, based on VIN what codes are pertinent or applicable to the specific VIN numbered vehicle. They either can be copied or stored to allow for a personal code record that dealers or techs could lose?? Any input specific to GM trucks 2007.5 or later?? Tks.

Dennis: There are a number of websites that give recall and TSB information - here is one of them:www.alldatadiy.com/recalls/index.html I don't know of any giving error codes by VIN.

Thanks Steve, I believe there is a website that will give codes based on VIN that were "original" codes from factory that set transmission, injector settings, etc.. Not sure at this point if my query is accurate. Will also go to various websites for GM's. Tks.
