Black Water Holding Tank No Fuss Flush

Water will not flow through the black water holding tank flush line. I checked the backflow preventer and it appears to be working okay.

Has anyone experienced a blockage in the flush system or at the tank?

Ours runs great. I use it every time we tear down. Just let it run for about 15 minutes. You can hear it spraying the sidewalls of the tank when it's on. Hope someone comes along with a solution for you.

Mine acts up every once and a while. Make sure you use full water pressure and don't hook the flush to a pressure regulator. I have run compressed air through the line to blow any debris out.

If you use compressed air be very careful about the amount of pressure! You can do lots of damage with 100 plus lbs of compressed air in the water and waste systems. Might explain some of the problems some people have had with their holding tanks. Just a thought? If the tank vents can't relieve the pressure buildup for some reason it could cause problems.

How did you "check the backflow preventer"? I, along with several other folks, experienced a failure of this valve (the smallish one, under the bathroom/bedroom sink. It has a flat "hat" on top of it). I just removed it and connected the lines without it. Works fine now. I always use an anti-backflow connector at the hose end.

There was a thread recently listing the address of the mfg of the part, if you want to get a replacement.

Best,

I just started RVing and haven't figured out all the connections. There's a water-line connection just behind the tank valves, and under the body of the coach. Is that the backwash connection? The original owner didn't know, because he "never used the toilet".

Please advise. Thanks

Jhadley, under the body should be a line for draining the fresh water tank and two lines for draining the water lines at their low point (low point drains). On the 2000 models (and our 2003) a black tank flush connection was an option. If you have it there should be a hose connection on one of the trailer sidewalls. It should be clearly marked as to its function along with a warning to make sure the black tank dump valve is open. On our 3295RK the connection is just above the water filler panel.

We recently experienced a problem with our flush line in that we too had some type of restriction. I was able to get it working again by filling up the black tank completely - I held the toilet pedal down until I could see the water level in the pipe just below the toilet (this took a while but I did not want to drag a hose into the bathroom). I let the water sit for about an hour then opened the drain valves and started the flow though the flush line. It appears that something (like tissue) may have dried on the flush line nozzles in the tank when our rig sat for about a month between trips. Not sure if this is the same issue you are having but it worked for us.
