Water heater timer install

I installed a timer on our water heater for the electric element. When paying for the electrical, this saves a bunch. We just time it on 1/2 hr before needed in the morning, once around lunch and in the evening. Use a good timer with 24 hr settings to fine tune it to your schedule. Just cut into the electrical wire supplying the heating element, wire in an outlet, just put a plug on the wire going to the water heater element, then plug into the timer. Easy-peasy. I wired in a light (License-plate light enclosure) and a Red Christmas tree bulb.
