66 mph for me. I run 68-70 mph towing and only stop for fuel. Average distance is 750-850 miles per day.

The question asked was: How many miles per hour do you average in a day, not how many miles do you drive! Most people say around 50 to 55 because you are supposed to figure in your stops as well.

I (the DW) have kept records of every trip with our 5ers for 15 years. My log shows:
Date:
Location start to Location end (example: Salem, OR to Pacific City, OR)
Time left: (we usually leave by 9 a.m.)
Mileage on departure:
Weather at departure: (temperature and condition)
Stops: (I list time for gas stops, rest stops, lunch, etc.)
Arrival time:
Mileage at arrival:
Weather at arrival:
Total Travel time: (includes stop times)
Stop times:
Travel time: (minus stop times)
Miles traveled:
RV park where we stay: (listing things like F-H, B-I, Price per
night, number of nights, 50 amps, cable, etc.)

I can't tell you how many times we refer back to this log to see how long it actually took to make the trip (minus stops), what the mileage was, how we liked the RV Park where we stayed, what the weather was at that time of year, which exits for gas, etc.

To get back to the subject of this thread, we have discovered that like everyone else we travel about 62 mph, and average 50 miles per hour. We like short days (250 miles OR LESS), and prefer to have a reservation before we start out. Logs aren't for everyone, but I have kept a written diary of all the places we have visited and I put the log info in that diary. We now have been so many places, that we often refer to that diary for a memory jog. Fun to hear how others do their trips. Some of us like organization and others like to just start out and let the day take them where it leads.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, Dick and Sharon

We average about 150 to 200 miles per day and we are on the road about 8 to 9 hours for an overall average of 18 to 21 miles per hour of distance traveled. Yes, we tend to stop a lot. A big travel day for us is 300 miles, and that is pushing it. Carolyn says it's to many Indian casinos and historical monuments. Yes we drive between 60 and 65 mph on the highway.

I have no idea of the average. Off the expressway, we do posted speeds. On the expressway, 60 to 65 depending on the state laws. That's all with the trailer of course. Without the trailer, I refuse to answer...

In almost three years of RVing, I think we AVERAGE about 40-45 miles in an hour (maybe less). Without giving out TMI, we stop often, especially in the morning after the coffee. Since we carry our facilities with us, many of our stops are on the side of the road. We have to think about the dog also. She likes her "stretch" breaks as much as I do. I can't even imagine doing more than 500 miles in a day. OH to be young again!!!!! As footloose, we do not move without reservations, we are too new at this and don't want to be "Caught" at Wally World for the night. A little leery about our height also. I would like to be able to just take off and go, maybe one day we will get there. We usually try and limit under 300 a day and usually travel no faster than 62-65 mph.

Well, now that I have that new fangled dealy doo that does all the mathematical computations for me, I have determined that traveling between 60-65 mph will average me 40-47 mph. It depends on how long, or if, we stop for lunch, and what side roads we may be on. As for potty breaks, I'm a two hour man, and Earlene gets up and uses whatever she needs while we are rolling. It is the one time that I can ask her to get me a drink or a sandwich and she doesn't give me that "look."

We leave 8:00 AM and stop around 2 or 3 P.M. Do around 60 MPH. Only traveling 200 to 350 miles a day. No more. Couple of stops for us and dogs during that time. We pack a lunch so no need to stop to eat.
Our fuel tank is 52 gallon so we don't need to stop for fuel often.
No more than 4 to 6 hours a day traveling. Depends on weather, traffic and road.

We also are concerned about height! Lost our after market sewer vent thingie this fall on an overpass that said it was high enough but wasn't. That was too close for comfort! That thing was two inches higher than one of our AC's.
