A little late but here goes. I have a 50 gal Trans Flow Tank and would not be without it. I can pick and choose where I buy. There have been some stops with the rig attached where I had to back out of places not designed for trucks or Montys. I like to fuel without the rig. Sometimes you have no choice.

I have weight concerns on my truck so I won't even try to put in an aux tank. Same with getting a larger stock tank (plus I hear it makes one side heavier than the other. I do like that if you have one and even if you stop every two hours for bio breaks, etc. it's nice not have to get in line and try and fuel up especially when towing the 5er. Just keep passing up the pumps until you find the price you like and want to take the time to refuel is very nice.
I try and use trucker pumps at truck stops when traveling since they pump fast, they are typically plentiful, usually available, can accomodate our rigs and the little cars are NOT THERE (on occasion, I'll see an old Mercedes Benz - LOL). Having a transfer tank means one can be much more choosable about not having to refuel when the accomodations are not as good. But this can only be a wish for me. Fortunately, I have a 38 gallon stock tank that gives me almost 400 miles range - that's decent for us. I usually refill at every other stop or right before our destination.

If you have weight issues that is a very good reason to not have one Art. and I hate truck stops when pulling the monty G & I can fill up when we get to our campground after we have disconected, I have figured it out that at 10 mpg. mininum with both tanks 75 gal is 750 miles, I will have plenty of time to look when we go to Alaska on our next big trip.
