EXPANDED FORD RECALL

For all,
Just heard it on the news tonight....Ford has expanded it's recall of vehicles for a cruise control related problem. Here is a list of affected vehicles and a link to the entire article Ford Recall The recall covers the following model years:
1995-2003 Ford Windstar
2000-2003 Ford Excursion diesel
1993-1997 and 1999-2003 Ford F-Super Duty diesel
1992-2003 Ford Econoline

1995-2002 Ford Explorer
1995-2002 Mercury Mountaineer
1995-1997 and 2001-2003 Ford Ranger
1994 Ford F35 Motorhome vehicles.

Of course, our truck is on the list so I will be making an appointment to get the work done when I get home.

Jack

Has anyone had the work done on their vehicle yet for this recall? We've heard various reports of how the "fix" is made.

I checked with the Ford dealer today and they can check your VIN to see if you're one of the lucky ones. Not all in the range are involved.

I was one of the lucky ones and had the work done today. It took about 45 minutes and they put a fusable link in line that would burn up before the brake fluid reservoir got hot.

Thanks, Jack. We "retired" our 2002 Explorer by passing it to our daughter. We'll make sure she gets it into the shop!
