Smile Pigeon Forge (TN) area campgrounds

We want to plan a visit to Pigeon Forge in September. Does anyone have CG recommendations for this area? The only related posts I've found are all pretty old.

Several good ones in the area. Ones off the strip in Pigeon Forge are a bit crowded, we like River Planation in Sevierville, large pull thru sites, nice facilities, good location for most external activities.

We enjoyed Duvall in the Smokies. Its a small newer campground with great facilities and the owners are very nice folks. Quiet creekside location yet close enough to all the populat attractions.

Up the creek is a great campground. On wears valley road away from all the traffic but close enough to all the attractions. Sites are big and roomy.

As 1retired06 commented, River Plantation was pretty nice, easy in/out. Our particular site was a little close but think that was more just luck of the draw because the others were mostly wider and some paved. We just left there yesterday. One family we talked to recommended "Anchors Down" CG too.

We were just in pigeon Forge at the end of last month and stayed at Creekside RV in pigeon Forge. We were very happy with it. We also stayed one night at Waldens Creek but I would not recommend that one.

River Plantation is our favorite. Plenty of room. Sites spread out. Very clean.

River Plantation is a nice campground. But if the river floods watch out. We where there about 10 years ago and went to visit my wife's family. Left in the morning came back about 4pm and the place was under water about 1/2 of the campground had water 3 to 4 deep. We were on the end of the campground farthest from the river and water was up to the axles none got into the camper we were very lucky. Lots of motorhomes and trailers ruined.

We just stayed at Rivers Edge, north side of Pigeon Forge. We were there for 4 nights, overall, good place to stay, $40.00 per night. The only thing I thought it was over crowded, way too close to for me. We were at the river, back in. I think you will see all of the camp grounds will be close and crowded. Good luck!

We stayed at Up the Creek as well. Very nice and not too far from town. The only thing, make sure you investigate the route in, there is one way in that will probably not be fun. I seem to remember directions on their website, make sure you follow them.

We just came back from Pigeon Forge a week ago last Friday. Stayed at Riversedge, nice, staff very helpful, grounds clean. We were in a back in space @ the river. Some bugs but manageable. Somewhat crowded, but I think you will have to deal with that in the area. Recommend

Two rivers landing

We were headed to Alabama for a family Wedding and only got to stay in Two Rivers Landing for one night. However the hubby hasn’t stopped talking about returning for a longer visit.

Pigeon Forge KOA. Very well maintained and clean
It is located next to the trolley station. Get a 3$ band and ride all day around the area. Also next to the Mill area.

The Ridge RV Resort is brand new and supposed to be very nice like Anchors Down, however we have never visited. I think it has the same owners as River Plantation RV Resort.
