1000 Trails Wilderness Lakes, Apr/May 09

This was the first place we've gone since joining the MOC. I have been pretty voracious at reading the forum topics, replies, travel posts, etc.

As a brand new member, I thought I would go hunting for Montanas at our very next outing.

We were at site 172 at the 1000 Trails, Wilderness Lakes in Menifee, CA only about 15 miles from our stick house from Apr 27 to May 8. A day or so later another Monty parked across the way and down by about a couple of sites. I never got up the guts to introduce myself the 10 or more days we were there, but if anyone is willing to fess up and embarass me please feel free to do so.

In their defense, even though we were RVing there for a while we had errands to do just about every day, so we weren't around much during the day, in case they had the courage to try and stop by. We sure may have seemed like some sticks in the mud at that point.

I only saw a woman with very long curly/wavy blond hair come out of their rig once while I was out walking our doggy but was too far away at the time to say hello. They also had dog pens that surrounded their exit door to let their dogs out unattended and I didn't feel like hopping their fence to knock on their door in case they also intended it to be a deterrent to visitors and I didn't want to disturb their dogs.

Does this ring a bell with anyone? Sorry if we may have seemed so unfriendly, but chalk it up to bashfulness.

I forgot to mention the real distinguishing clue. They had a flag pole that TOWERED over the Monty. They also had a powerful light beam that pointed up towards the flag providing an impressive illumination. It was quite dramatic.

Hey,

That was us! The flagpole is a dead give-away
We live in Riverside and travel with our 3 dogs and 2 squirrels.
We just got back today from Wilderness Lakes. We spent the week of the 4th there. We'll be back for the Labor Day week. I saw your rig but didn't want to bother you. I've had some pretty irate encounters with Montana owners.
Sorry I didn't respond sooner but I haven't been on the MOC forum in over a year.
