Windy Port Aransas, TX

We are at the Pioneer RV Park just off the beach in Port Aransas, TX. We are attending the Escapee Rally at the park. There are probably 8-10 Montanas in the park. It is a really great park but the wind started earlier this week and has not let up--25 mph with gusts to 40! Hopefully it will let up soon!

Welcome to the Gulf Coast Tim and Susan. Living in Texas City and playing golf regularly years ago, it was not uncommon to hear the golfers griping about the wind, until it stopped. Then the wished like heck that it would blow again because the heat is almost unbearable with the humidity we have. Even this time of the year, when I step outside to work on anything, I can expet to be drenched in 20 minutes or less.

In an RV it is a nuisance to have those toppers flapping, but if it gets to bad, I just pull them in to get some sleep. Or, just pull in the one side that the wind is problem on. Hey! San Antonio can get some good winds also.

Edited: It doesn't seem to matter the time of year on the Gulf Coast. We were in Corpus, December 08, and had what you are experiencing.

All the old timers here at Aransas Pass say this is the windiest year they ever recall. I know this is our third spring here, and things are sure different. Tides are a lot lower, bait fish is scarce along with blue crabs, and the wind seems to blow constantly.
