Off to Myrtle Beach

We are taking our new Montana 3585SA on her maiden voyage to Ocean Lakes CG at Myrtle Beach tomorrow. Really looking forward to about five days away and a good check out of the 5er.

I'm jealous!!

The Myrtle Beach Area is my wife's and my favorite camping destination. We have stayed next door at Lakewood several times and loved it. We may be making plans for a trip there next summer. It's just too far from PA to make it a weekend.

We do have a time share there at the Broadway Sheraton Plantation and will be there mid July but camping at the beach is the BEST!!!

Bad brush/forest fires raging about 20 miles north/northwest of the campground. Winds are blowing the smoke away from our area. Quite a few homes lost and thousands of acres burned. So far so good on the maiden voyage.

They have approx. 5000 acres burning in the North Myrtle Beach area. Over 50 homes have burned.

You might want to check out the area you are going.

For what it's worth, I received this e-mail this morning.

ABC news and weather reported that winds were now blowing from the south to north and were pushing the fires and smoke that way.

What a heart wrenching sight.

Weather remains great here at Ocean Lakes. Spoke to a buddy of mine in Fayetteville, NC last night and they were getting some smoke from the fires up there.
