Northern CG's closing for winter

Doing some planning for our Nov 1st departure.....Gas City on I69 north of Indianapolis is about 12 hours from us...I started checking the Woodalls for CG's from about the MI border going south,,,,everything is closed except one.......its a nudist colony......although I would love to enrich my mind and enjoy a truly international cultural experience I have been advised that even taking my foot Off the accelerator my be hazardous to my cultural status.....might have to wallymart it there somewhere..anyone got any ideas??

We always stay at a Super Walmart just across the border at Port Huron. It is a couple of miles north of the border crossing. It is about 6 hrs. from our place and works out ok because it is usually about 10 am when we leave after we close the house down.

KOA by Fort Wayne just off 69 that would be north of Gas City. Site sez they are open till Nov 15. You know that the KOA can be pricey. Go to KOA website. Phone No. for the park is 260-824- 0127. Maybe you can barter the price. The next open park would be at Pendleton which is south of Gas City. The park is Glowood Campground web site is glowoodcamp@aol.com phone no. 317- 485-5239. I hope this will help you. We leave from Michigan in the thumb reigon Jan 1 depending on the weather. Last year we stayed at the Terre Haute KOA, it was very pricey. This year we are looking at the the Cloverdale RV. park just east of Terre Haute on 70. A decent park on the trip south is in Caruthersville, MO. It is the Casino Aztar Rv.Park www.casinoaztarmo.com phone no. 1 573 333 6000. It has all paved sites ,security, and some stuff free for your stay. Great price also. It has a lounge and restraunt. Good Luck and have a safe trip.

Geesh, guys, I guess I am gonna have to call that KOA in Auburn Indiana, it was open all year round, now old turbo says, only till November.

That will put a nasty bump in our travel plans, as most times that is our first stop, only 100 miles from home, allows us to winterize in the AM, and get there before dark.

BUMMED.

Thanks for the info, as always, the MOC is invaluable!

Okayyyy dokey, this one bugged me, so, I got on the internet and phone and did some checking.

The KOA at Auburn is NO longer a KOA. They are now Classic City Camping.

THEY ARE OPEN ALL YEAR AROUND!

Here is web site:

http://www.classiccitycamping.com/index.html

She quoted me a fee of $33.45 for a night, all taxes included for a LONG pull through with just electric.

Ahhh, I can relax now, if we get to do Texas this year, we can use this again as our first stop. Whew!

Don,
Please picture me rolling on the floor LMAO at your post!!!

Thank you. Made my day.

Edited:
Don,
Pay someone at Wally-world to streak across the parking lot. Look at Joyce and say, "See, we should have stopped at the Nudist camp!"

Especially if the streaker has my body!!!!

Now watching me streak across a parking lot, nude, would definitely make the late night comedy show. I do have a Cinderella Paunch. (PM me for a definition of Cinderella Paunch)
