There seems to be a picture that's, well, "different" from the rest? No doubt there's a really, really good explanation.

That is Paul the nudist who owns the Quartzsite bookstore! I read a story about him that this lady went into the bookstore NOT knowing that it was owned by a 'naked guy'. She was looking at some books when he came out of the backroom. She turned, looked, and nervously said, "I was just looking!" He said, "I could see that!" I guess most of the time he wears a 'thong' but sometimes he doesn't! I have heard from friends that have shopped there that he is truly knowledgeable about his inventory and is extremely well read. Just not 'well dressed'! I guess it was Kate's lucky day!

She knew what she was getting into... She and the ladies that she went with had some good laughs after.

Q does have some characters - thats for sure.

Mr Weiner, I have been told, is a Berkley grad and a fine musician who used to have a band and toured the U.S. I do not know if his band had any recorded music. . His uniqueness is what has drawn him to Quartzsite!

I have seen town flyers advertising concerts with Mr. Weiner (the Known Naked Guy aka LeatherButt) at QIA, a Community Center site ( where currently a POW WOW is in full force). When I have Googled his name a lot of info comes up and a lot of it connected to Quartzsite.

And now as the renown Paul Harvey would, "You know the rest of the story".

Thanks for the pictures,we've been enjoying them. Nila went to Mr. Weiners concert last year and said it was good. Interestingly he is a collector of vintage clothing and does many clothing changes during the show

So he actually does wear clothes once in a while... nice!
