Vent lids

Does anyone know the replacement type (Ventline, Jensen, Elixer) of vent lid for a 2008 3400RL? Also, can a 290 pound guy walk on the roof of the 3400 without causing damage? I would think so, but I would like some opinions before I venture up and check the type of vent cover that requires replacing. Thanks in advance.

RitBaran,
When we replaced ours we simply took the broken ones out and took them with us to the parts place. The counter person said it was a very good idea to bring in the broken lids because they install several brands. Anyway that is my suggestion.

The roof should hold you easily. The slide roofs should also support your weight. The problem I would be concerned about is using the ladder. Rather than use the one mounted to the trailer I'd use one that you could lean up against the rig. Those trailer ladders are just too 'ify' for my taste.

Good luck.

I'm using my OEM ladder quite frequently, at 204lbs is seems strong enough.... 290????? I would vote for HamRad on the ladder issue. Roof should support your weight once you get up there.

For some strange reason when we replaced our vents covers (due to hail storm), they wanted to know the type of hinges! So, take notice of that also!

Good luck!

I agree with HamRad ... at 290 a sturdy ladder properly rated would be safer, I weigh 235 and believe I am near the limit for the installed ladder (did you notice that there is no published weight rating for that ladder?) I agree that the roof will easily support 300.
