Texas

That's it. We spent the day packing everything that won't freeze. We are getting ready for a 7 or 8 PM takeoff time on Monday. I hope to make it to Oklahoma City by Tuesday. Monahans Texas on Wednesday, then Big Bend National Park Thursday and spend a week. Then 2 days over to Port aransas until the end of March. The worst part is my wife cannot join me until her vacation March 12. I think I can say that with a straight face. I hope I have enough dishes to last until she gets there to wash them!!! Just kidding. It will be different with just me and the dog for 6 weeks.

Hope it warms up before you get here. We were over on the island today, and the high was 45*. That is cold with the humidity we had today. North wind is also howling. DW found several star fish, which I think were victims of the cold weather. We've been here since 07, and have never seen any on the beach. Safe travels!

Tim, that's great news. As SlickWillie said, we are having a bit of winter this year. See if you can snag a bit of warmer weather on your way down.

Look on the bright side. Kathy is probably happy to get rid of your retired butt for a couple of months. I know Audrey invents places for me to go just to get rid of me for awhile

Drive safely and say "Hey" when you get here.

Enjoy the trip! Big Bend is a great area. I bet you will want to take your wife there one of these days. Have a good time.
