Campgrounds on California Coast

Like some ideas for campgrounds on California Coast. We are interested in the whole coast and planning on the middle of August. Are there any with ocean views. I am sure they will be quite expensive. Stayed on Oregon Coast last year and that was very reasonable. We were always able to find Passport campgrounds. Does not look like many Passport parks are available in California. Any help you can give us would help.

Where on the California Coast, it is a big state. There is a nice park in Pacifica if you are planning on the San Fransico Bay area. Pismo Sands and Pismo Coast Village for the Pismo Beach area. Not on the beach but very central for the Redwoods area is Riverwalk RV Park in Fortuna. If you are going to the top I would reccomend Kamp Klamath, also not right on the coast but very close, or go into Crescent City and there are a few at the harbors. If you are doing southern CA there is a parking lot campgroud in Huntington Beach steps from the ocean / 50$ night, but like I said you are steps from the sand. And if you belong to PA there are some really nice parks in San Diego and with PA they are still not cheap but more affordable. Good luck with your trip. Teresa

Hi Karen,

We just spent 3 nights at Half Moon Bay State Park on the ocean. It is a dry camping park but right on the ocean. Ocean front for $25.

Have fun!
