Was not me but our son lives in Chattanooga, and I've been wondering how bad I-59 is to pull through all that rough concrete. Steve

This experience is several years old, and I hope is now out of date, but here goes: We were traveling east on I-20, took the south loop around Birmingham, then picked up I-59 to go up to Gadsden, AL. Within minutes of driving on I-59 we encountered the roughest stretch of interstate we had ever been on. It was so bad I said, "I'm turning off at the next exit, no matter how I get to Gadsden!" So we did and wound along delightful country roads until we came to a detour that put us back over on I-59. Thankfully, we had passed that terrible stretch, and made it on to Gadsden with no more problems. That stretch of rough freeway could not have been more than 20 - 30 miles at most, but it was the worst I have ever experienced.

David, They are working on it but I can't tell a lot of difference from what you describe. Kinda makes you wonder if anyone from ALDOT has ever traveled that strech of highway with thier family. Steve

That I-20 was bad but the worse I've been on was about 10 years ago on I 40 from Little Rock to Russelilve Ark. I had to pull over on the side of I 40 to see if I had a tire and wheel loose. Nope...it was the road.
