For the head bangers in the crowd!

I stole this idea from another 5th wheel last year and figured everyone was doing it. Since then I'm the only one I've seen. I just took a swim noodle and cut it open and attached it to my bedroom slide. Now when I turn around from the utility door and walk into it I'm only embarrassed and not injured.

I have become smarter. I have learned not to crack my head on the corners. It took a while though. I'm a slow learner, I guess.

I have orange ones.

I bumped my head on a kitchen cabinet hanging over the bar on a SOB I was looking at before I bought our Montana. Year later I had surgery to remove a one inch diameter cancer, bad kind. Still have a dent and scare from that SOB so try to be very careful with our bedroom slide and those things have saved me more then once.

Make sure you have them on your setup list.

I use two water heater insulation noodles. They are installed as soon as the slides are out. They stick down about 18 inches and this puts them down into my field of view making it a simple task to walk around. The really big issue is raising my head up fast while getting things out of the generator and battery compartment areas. I like nosticks idea, maybe a bike helmet as its lighter and appears as if I may be going riding instead of can't remember to continue ducking.

First thing I do after extending slides. DW thinks they're ugly, bald head loves 'em.

I had them on the previous Montana and I just recently purchased another one for this camper. I’ve found they won’t last but about one or two seasons and then they start falling apart. Still though, it’s a great Idea and not very expensive to make.

There's at least one other thread about this mod and variations. Great idea, mine are fluorescent orange so ya can't miss 'em!

Ouch!!!! I did the same, but I will say this much " Dont forget to take them out before you close that slide" or you might be buying a new trim cap for the slide they could crack or brake.

Actually you'll notice one other post about putting them on your check list. I would assume that means I'm not the only one who closed them in before I added them to the list. Mine squished enough that I didn't do any damage.

If you're altitude challenged (aka a midget) ya don't need a rubber noodle!
