Lucky on roof leak
Woke up at 2am to water drops on my chest. Not a good feeling. Turned on light and there was a leak directly above the bed (between bedroom slid and front air). Still storming out so we just put a bucket on the bed and switched sleeping locations. Went up on roof this morning expecting the worse. Found the small rubber boot that protects the hole where the antenna wire goes through the roof was pulled up about an inch off the hole. Used some OSI brand silicon (clear) and sealed it back in place. Spent another 30 minutes inspecting every inch of the front part of roof area and found no issues. Couple hours later got another big rain and.....NO LEAK! This was my lucky day. But I did decide that at least once a month I am going to drag my butt up there and do a visual inspection.

It is a common problem.

Sometimes our "problems" are minor. Glad for you.

Our first and only leak was recently and located right at the antenna crank in the bedroom . . . over the bed,of course! Sure enough, when Dave went up on the roof the next morning, there were three small cracks in the caulking around the base of the antenna. Re-caulked them and we've been dry since. They must have happened fairly recently, because he spotted it right away and does get up there every few weeks to check things out.
We're in a pattern of rather violent afternoon thunderstorms right now, so when I lowered the antenna prior to a storm the other day, I've just left it down until we cycle out of this weather pattern sometime next week.
Glad your leak was minor and fixable!

Wow J and C. We encountered the same problem over the Fourth.Wife woke to water drops. I carefully worked trim piece open and placed a towel to soak water. We had 7 inches of rain in 7 days.
We ended our Fourth celebration on Thur when the campground owner decided to evacuate since the river behind us got out of the banks. When I saw him using rope to secure picnic tables to trees we decided time to go. Put Monty in building and was glad to get home.
BTW did same repair as you. I was impressed upon inspection of all the lap sealant condition on our Monty(stored in building since new).

I didn't have the leak from the antenna but I did find the little boot over the cable gland had come loose.
I tend to HATE silicone sealant except for very specific places so I used a Tyrap to hold the boot in place.
3 years now and it's still there. But use a black one as the white ones will not stand up to UV for long.
