compressor
While going through the trials and tribulations of removing my flat tire I wanted to put air in the flat to see if it was the valve or if I could determine where the leak was coming from. I had purchased a compressor from HF, one of those cheap $39(on sale), 3 gal, 1hp gems. It didn't put any more than about 15 in my tire.
I went to my new favorite store for tools and bought a Maxxuss 2.5 gal, 1 hp with 135 max psi. What a difference!!! It took about 2 minutes to reach it's max in the twin tanks. I checked my other tires which were down to 60 and was pleasantly surprised when it took about less than a minute to bring them up to 70.
There is a 5 year warranty and all reviews read were positive. I paid $129 for it which is far less than the $200+ advertised on the internet. It fits very nicely in my basement storage adjacent to the electric outlet and is very light.
I know I read other postings regarding compressors but could not find them. So here's a new one.

I think HF is pretty good about make good on their equipment they sell. I have one of the $39 pancake compressors and it puts 80# in my tires easily.

BB_Tex is yours the 3 gal 1HP? I got one to use for my brad nailer and it is fine for that but for tires my experience was the same as Dick's. Took for ever to air my rear truck tires for 45 to 70 psi. Jim

Pretty sure it is the 1 hp model pancake. Not near it right now. Fills the tank to near 100#. Have only used it to top off the tires. But takes them to 80# very quickly after tank is pressurized.

BB, It is probably the same one me and Dick have. It will top off a tire that's a couple of pounds low but don't plan on doing any major air work. When I was raising my rear TV tires from 45 to 70#'s, light haul to heavy haul mode, I thought I was going to burn up the compressor. Tripped out a couple of times on overheat and took forever. Jim

I have a Campbell Hausfeld Tankless Air Compressor . Runs off 120vac, goes to 110 psi. Around 1 1/2 HP. Really fills my tires quickly and with no tank it is light weight and takes up less space than the ones with tanks.
I found it on line somewhere. I don't remember where.
