Good Sam Extended Warranty Plan

Is the Good Sam Extended Warranty Plan a good one? In reading their literature it does not look like they cover a lot for the price. I am looking for a good plan at a reasonable price.
Thanks for the feedback.

That is a good question. I have considered it several times, but each time I prefer to save the premium money for an unknown repair. So far I'm ahead of the game. Also be aware that several of the components have more warranty that one year. It is all a gamble. So far after four 5th wheels and three travel trailers, I have had one major component fail that I had to pay all the expense out of pocket.

We have had Good Sam's CSP plan for three years and so far it has paid for itself. For rigs that are older like ours, this plan, I believe is worth it; at least it has been for us. But for the newer units I think the dealer's extended warranty is probably better; that's because of the manufacturer's warrant on the individual appliances. In our case, we had a refrigerator replaced under the dealer extended warranty, but we've had grey and black water holding tank failures (grey water twice) and the CSP plan took care of them (minus our $200 deductible for each failure). The CSP plan takes care of the most important points of failure in the RV.

I went with Wholesale Warranties in March of 2010. Got 7 yrs for $1120. Haven't used it yet, but many members have it. Call Jeff Shelton at 858-658-0530 for a quote. Its one of many.

We agree with Orv. We have the Good Sam Extended Warrantee and it has helped us, too. As our unit ages, it is assuring that we have it. - Jim
