New Orleans to Houston

On our westbound trip to Florida we took I 10 from Houston to NOLO. What a horrible stretch of highway. I have never been on something this rough. I’m wondering on our return trip if Hwy 90 might be a smoother choice.

I drove this quite a few years back and I agree - it is horrible. I forget where we stopped for gas in MS, but I was about to head north to catch I20 instead of I10. I spoke to someone filling up (a local) and he said the freeway got better just east of town. For some reason the spacing of the cracks in the concrete was the harmonic frequency of the axles on the truck/trailer. Like riding a bucking bronco. I think we had slowed to around 50 mph just to stay in one piece.
Others have mentioned this stretch of I10 recently and nothing has changed in 8-10 years! I believe if I go that way again, I will find a different route.

We have driven that stretch of road often since 1970. It has always been terrible.
