Awning remote?

We just traded for a 2018 3791RD non-Legacy Montana and after 2 weeks in it full time the ONLY thing I am missing over the 2012 Montana is a remote to extend/retract the main awning from the outside without having to go in to the main control panel located inside.

Has anyone installed one of the 12 volt remotes that are available from Amazon, etc. to open and close the awning and if so how is it working out?

Please don't say "you should have gotten the Legacy package and you wouldn't have this problem". We like to keep things pretty simple and didn't want the extra headaches of additional things to give problems and besides that the rear cap is not available on the 3790/3791RD even with the Legacy package.

Thanks in advance for any help/advise!

Our remote has had it's entire life in a drawer. Used it a couple times, and decided it was more trouble than it was worth and hard on expensive batteries. We either have the awning out or in, don't see the need to keep running it in and out. Besides, it's not that hard to just run inside to operate it when needed.

Thanks, but we had one with our 2012 and used it quite often and only changed the battery 2-3 times in 6 years. I have located a remote on Amazon that should control the awning and the under-awning lights too and it's very inexpensive and rated 4.5 stars.

Would you mind posting the link to the remote you are looking at? Thanks.

I'm afraid that I am technology challenged when it comes to posting a link. Just go to Amazon and search "Solidremote 12v-24v secure wireless" and the one I have selected should come up. Only $14.99. Hope this helps.
