Waiting on our new 5er

We've been attenting all the RV shows we could for years. We never saw anything that "popped our cookie". While attending a Camping World show a saleperson stated "You know, if you find an RV with 7 out of 10 things you're looking for, you should buy it." I quickly shot back that if I found 10 out of 10 things, THEN I would buy. The last 5er we looked at was a 3402-after over two hours with the salesman at the show, we are now waiting on delivery in early May. Sold our old 5er (a JayFlite BH). We feel so "homeless".

Welcome Kevin and Beth. Cogratulations on the new trailer. After finally deciding, it's the waiting that's the hard part isn't it? We too are waiting for our new trailer to come in... Poke around on the forum and you'll find a lot of good information in the meantime.

10 outta 10 ain't a bad start!

I hope you realize the new Monty might need a little bit more truck unless you been towing your prior trailer with a beasty truck already. The gross weights between the Jayflight and the new Montana are significant and I couldn't tow a new Monty with my existing truck and I've had my current Monty for 6 years (hoping for another 6 or more).

Congratulations on the NEW rig, and bye-bye to your old one (sniff). I hope it was good to you and this new one is even better.

Congrats Beth and Kevin. We know the feeling of being "homeless" and waiting until the right one comes along. 8 years ago we finally found the right trailer at the time for us at the Harrisburg, PA (now Hersey show) when we bought a 2005 NuWa.

With our home on the market, two weeks ago we were getting the trailer ready for the eventual move to full timing when we discovered a several hidden rot issue with the bedroom slide. Next thing we know we are looking at new rigs and could not believe the advancements in 8 years. What we did see in the Montana's were a significant increase in quality control over what we had and for the price that the dealer was offering it left us no choice but to jump in.

We are glad we did and glad to have found this forum. I have been surfing the various areas and find a wealth of knowledge and fellowship.

We pick up our new baby Saturday morning and cannot wait....It feels like Christmas as a kid all over.

If you are as impressed by the Montana's QC as we were then you will be just as happy

Good Luck from a fellow newbie!!!
