2016 Chevy 2500HD

Started having problems with the steering. Would not track straight, had to work the steering wheel back and forth just keep it within the lines. The steering got tighter just to turn it, like friction plates were screwed down. I have 5600 miles on the truck. Took it to the dealer, they checked the alignment (toe in was off). Re-programed the computer. They thought they had it fixed, but after a test drive the next day they knew they had a bigger problem. There is a service bulletin out from GM for play in steering wheel where they have to adjust a pin in the steering box. They found the steering box was toast. Had to replace the steering box. So just a heads up if your having problems with the steering.

Glad you located the problem and have it repaired. Sometimes it takes a few miles to get all the bugs worked out.
Happy Camping.

Stuff does slip through QC. If you think about it the people who make the steering box make about 2000 a day. It's a wonder more things aren't bad. If you wont the best machinery buy in the world get an American made pickup.

LOL priceml... I thought the same thing but I do know he meant quantity, not dollars. But I'm not following the comment about American quality since the OP was about an American truck and there was a problem. At least it's fixed now.
