Hitch for 2013 Ram 3500 8' bed

Help! Just bought a new RAM 3500 Dually w/ 8 foot bed. It does NOT have the factory hitch mounting system. I am looking for an underbid system. I do not want rails in the bed. Currently have a HUSKY 16K hitch. I cannot find anyone that lists a mounting system (underbid) that fits this truck. (any brand) Can anyone point me in the right direction.

I also have the Pullrite 20.5k Super 5th hitch and love it. You may want to look into the fully removable rail kit from Pullrite, might be what you are looking for.

Thanks all. The problem is that the 2013 truck is a 100% new design and none of the earlier year hitch set ups that I can find will fit. B&W does have the new turnover ball set up for this truck but their web site states that they do not yet have a fifth wheel hitch that will work. The say it will be available soon. Summer will be over soon in Maine though.... Anyway, I think the B&W is the answer and can only hope that the hitch portion itself is available soon.

We have the B&W as well. Their customer service is second to none. If you can wait for the model for your truck you won't be disappointed.

When I was looking for the hitch for the new 2011, I called Pull Rite and they said they had the rails in engineering and was about to put them into production. They said they would send them to me for free, as long as I would have them installed by one of their authorized dealers. They wanted the dealer to call into Pull Rite and answer questions about the new rails.

Give them a call and see what they say.....

I have been looking at a 2013 Ram 3500 also and so far what you said above is what I have also found out. There is an Anderson Ultimate unit that attaches to the gooseneck ball, a couple on the Dodgedeisel forum have tried it. Hopefully B&W will have their lowere unit soon. This has been a disaster for new 2013 Ram 3500 owners, especially for those who have the 5th wheel prep kit, as Chrysler is just now releasing the picture frame adapter that attaches to the four holes in the bed and has cross rails for most hitches.

I see that some of you are using B&W hitches. I too have a 2013 Ram 3500 with difficulty getting a hitch. B&W has a 18K Companion Hitch with the turnoverball companion mount kit. I have been informed that Montana does not recommend the gooseneck, however, I would not be using the gooseneck. Would I be legal using their mounting kit with their fifth wheel hitch. Thanks for your help.

I had the first 3500 Ram in Texas, and was perhaps the first to tow with a 3500. Ended up having my Reese hitch installed above bed. Couldn't wait for the new system. Plus, Ram did not put in the covers for the 4 holes in the bed. After (2) months, I'm still waiting.

Bill, yes, you would be fine with the companion/turnover hitch. That's the hitch that I and many others use. It meets anything Montana would require in a hitch. It's pricey but very well built and the company backs their product with outstanding customer service. I'm surprised they don't yet have a mount for the 13's, but if you can wait, I'm sure it would be a top shelf product. In addition to build quality, I like how it's removed in two parts, making it easier to move around, and leaves the truck bed completely flat. They're not the only quality manufacturer out there but we're very satisfied with them and would buy their product again.

Thanks all. I have ordered the B&W turnover ball set up (1314). It uses the underbed mounting holes. Only six bolts. There is a great youtube video on the instal. B&W has made an adapter plate for their current companion hitch to install the hitch onto the turnover ball. It fills the gap in the bed. They will provide it for free. I also spoke with their customer service, and you are all right, they are fantastic. They are designing/building a new companion hitch that will not require this adapter plate. They say it will have many of they new upgrades that users have been asking for. They are not sure when it will be available but say it will be soon. They also say it will be worth the wait if I can wait. I am going to try and wait.

I had the Companion hitch installed yesterday along with the adapter plate. I couldn't wait for their new Companion hitch as our house has sold with a closing date of Monday. And I'm pretty sure the new owners wouldn't want me to leave the Montana in their driveway. Many thanks to all for your advice .

I too have been considering a new Ram but this hitch thing has put me on hold. I verified with the local hitch installer that the only setup currently available is the B&W gooseneck with a companion hitch. That is a $1,500 set up so I will delay purchase until the bed rail setups are available so I can use my current Reese hitch.

Which of the nine position settings for height&front/back are you folks using for the B&W Companion in the 2013 RAM 3500s?

Decided to mount it full forward in highest position for now

I second that comment. I love my B&W. The quality is second to none.

The B & W Companion hitch is now available for the 2013 3500. Pricey at about $933, but got to do what you got to do.
