I have one in the Montana that is about 3 years old. I did have to send it in one time for repairs about 2 years back and talk about a hassle. I don't know if they have changed their policy but if you need it fixed you need to take it back to where you bought it and they send it in to get repaired. This proved to be quite a hassle as I had to talk to many people about what to do to send it in for repairs. After getting the run around I found out when you call them you are getting some marketing company that has no idea of what costumer service is. The unit seems to work fine and works quite well as a end table along side of my lazy boy. Would I buy another one, maybe but I think you can pick one just like it on Amazon for about $150 less that is just as efficient.

After read the report above I think the only way they could be a little more efficient is they run for a while after the element shuts off. This air movement that is cooling down the quartz element might help maybe. I do also agree they are hyped more but not worth the big bucks. I think I paid about $279 for mine as it was a last years model. Mine remote for my TV also interferes with the temp control on the heater so that is quite a hassle.

Reading Charlie's article made me feel better about my little no frills electric space heaters. cheap, but they work.

I bought one 3 or 4 yrs ago for home family room. It was too noisy and hard to hear to TV. Sent it back for a refund and got a nice elec fireplace TV stand like in the F/W and am much happier with it. I don't know if the new ones are quieter. Saw Eden pure in Costco today for under 250.00

It's that time of the year in the North Country and the Snake Oil Salesmen (read that as Heater Salesmen) are coming out of the woodwork. Stopped at Tractor Supply the other day and they were stuffing brochures into the shopping bags for an upcomming sales presentation on a similar heater they're pushing. All the more reason for us to be heading South next week.

We used a heater called Solar Comfort. It uses 4 heat lamp bulbs to get the heat from. It has a blowerand some small fins inside to asborb the heat. We had free eletricity here in the ND oil patch. So any way we could use more eletricity and less propane to heat with was a good thing.
We bought some extra's for winter put are not staying in the camper any more so I have 3 of them for sale. $275 plus ride.

Google Milk House heater. We've used the same one since the early 70's. They put out around 5K btu's and can be bought for under $50.

I traded my snowblower (moved south and don't need it anymore) for 2 of these heaters from my sister (she has a new house with a better central heating system and doesn't need the heaters anymore). Just got back from a month long trip out west and used one of these just about every night. So far, so good. A couple good things that I noticed about these vs our old coil type space heater is that it seemed to disperse the heat more evenly and it didn't tend to dry the air out as much. Having said that, I have only used it for one month so don't yet know about the long term reliability.
