IT'S HERE

Finally, after waiting 3 months since we ordered it, we picked up the new truck on Friday the 17th. What a beauty!! It is a 4X4 Laramie Crew Cab with a short bed and has the new “High Output” Cummins turbo diesel with exhaust brake coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission and 4:10 rear end. The first thing we did yesterday was make sure it would fit in the garage (one of the reasons for getting the Dodge) and it does, then I spent the rest of the day learning how to operate and program the radio and garage door opener The owner’s Manual is a mere 625 pages and that doesn’t include the instructions for the entertainment system or the diesel supplement. Next week we will be getting the 5th wheel hitch installed and then we will be ready to tow. Our first trip will be the 9th of July when we takethe Montana to the factory in Pendleton, OR. A good shakedown cruise of 380 miles with varying terrain that should give us a good idea of how the truck is going to handle the Montana. I have attached a couple of pictures, but I couldn’t figure out how to include some of that new truck smell Now we need to get a photo of the rig and the truck together for a new signature photo

Nice ride! Be sure to break it in before towing (per manual)
High Output Cummins? How is it different than say a 2009 6.7L Cummins? What kind of hitch are you going to have installed?

I will be putting in the REESE 18K Select series (slider) that we had in the Ford. We ordered the truck with the factory spray-in bedliner and when the shop installs the hitch they will LINE-X the hitch rails and bolts. The "High Output" diesel is new for Spring 2011 and came out in FEB. It touts 400HP and 800 ft. lbs of torque!

Mike,
It does look familiar doesn't it? I can't wait to lash it up to the Montana and give it a run. What do you run your brake controller at? At least that will give me an idea of where to start with the settings.
Thanks,
Jack

Very nice! You may want to check your owner's manual regarding how many miles are recommended on your new truck before towing....
