Hi We have landed a job at Pyramid Lake Off I-5 in Calif. We are curious to how did you find the area and was the Lake all it should be. We will be there April 11 thru Oct 11. I would be interested In your experiences. thanks for any input you have.How hot is the Summer months? Do the nights cool off? stuff like that.

Congratulations on the job at Pyramid Lake. The lake is near the mountain range separating Los Angeles from the San Joaquin Valley. It is a part of the huge Feather River project which brings water from the north to the parched southland. The lake stays at almost the same level year round.

The terrain in this area is very mountainous and the lake sits right in several of the larger canyons. I have only used the lake maybe one time. You get a lot of folks out of the LA area. A lot of personal water craft, some fisher type folks and lot of water skiers. Very few beaches due to the extreme mountain range. They do limit the number of people / boats / personal water craft. That at least makes it tolerable otherwise there would be utter chaos on and around the lake.
