It may be.The pin should slide into the bedsaver smoothly without a big drop, about 1/4 inch drop is suggested.Think about what your pin weight is and how much weight would drop on the bedsaver if it dropped 3 or 4 inches or more as we have seen many set up. We did have to raise the pin over the bedsaver wih our reese hitch and it is very close with the trailersaver. It is no big deal.

Right now with the Super Fifth Pullrite I try to have the trailer pin slide up the fifth wheel plate to engage, by doing so it also helps eliminate the infamous "high hitch". Once the Bed Saver is installed will I still be able to ramp up the same way or do you have to clear the Bed Saver and literally drop into the Pullrite? Can someone enlighten me please.

The bed saver is low enough so you can hookup the way you like. I hook like you do and it is not a problem.

Incidentally my $65.00 Bed Saver just arrived, bought it on Ebay, they listed it for $95.00, I made a counter offer of $65.00, the seller accepted it, that was Wednesday afternoon and Friday morning it showed up. It is brand new in the box, I think I got a great deal. I wonder what they used to sell for retail?

I first had the bed saver put on a Reese 16K hitch; it was made for it. When we traded trucks and got the Mopar 20K hitch, I had a welding shop cut down the width of the bedsaver to fit the new hitch. It is mounted so that when I hook up, I lower the pin to just touch the bedsaver and then back up. The pin hits the hitch perfectly and slides up maybe an inch and locks in. If it ever comes loose from the hitch, it will drop that same inch or so into the bedsaver. For us it is insurance we hope we never use.
