I have a Superglide from 2006. It required the Slip Plate stuff. But I had galled them a bit already, so Pullrite suggested I just turn them over. Did that for a few years and then (I forget why) I got new, ummm, slide tubes, I think they are called. Anyway, whatever part I got, they said I could just use WD40. I think they change the way they made them around 2010 or 2012.

My owner's manual clearly says to keep the slides coated with "Slip Plate" graphite spray. If yours has steel-on-steel slides, WD40 will not prevent galling of the slide surfaces.

The older Pullrite hitches that were metal to metal used the graphite spray, but the newer ones that have the plastic wear plates use WD40, and it works. I occasionally wipe the ways with a rag soaked with WD40 to remove the dirt buildup, but other than that, they are very low maintenance.
