My wife an our 7 kids two dogs plus her sister and their 5 and my ex-brother-in-law (not her sisters), are going on a 3 day bondocking trip in our new to us 1997 5th wheel. They should all fit in there going down the road, so not a problem. My question is how long will my water last?

This is the God's truth. Early last spring on the RV Forum someone was bragging about the rig they put together to take the whole family around the country. A very old used and converted school bus towing an equally old 30' TT. This didn't seem to be a joke, they were hurt when we didn't think it was a good idea.

I have read some real stories myself and I just shake my head and laugh. But, think of it this way. There was once a time way back when we were youngsters when we first started camping and we couldn't afford the Monty's and the better life. We did what we could to get by. Now I know all of us at some time or another have thought back and said "did I really do that"? Back then we didn't have the internet, the forums etc. to realize that loading that RV or car or truck or whatever it was when you went camping in over wieght conditions was a bad thing. We didn't even consider it. So yes we had our days also, and we surely look back and laugh at it. How about you?

Dave you are exactly right. I remember a time when we had a 77 Camaro and were tenters at the time, we removed the rear seat cushions to make just a little more storage space for all the junk we took with us on that vacation.

Ah the good ol days!
This is why when someone ask about pulling a unit that is a little over weight but still safe I don't say too much to discourage them. I remember when I couldn't do any better.
