Yamaha EF2400iS Generator

Does anyone out there have experience with the Yamaha EF2400iS 2400 watt generator? We are considering one for occasional use to provide power to Montana 3295RK. In looking at power requirements it appears we will be in good shape as long as the air conditioner is off.

Thanks for the input.

Your being offered a great deal? That unit is pretty expensive but is nice and quiet. Honda's are the mainstay as the EU2000's are very portable and just as quiet. I personally own a Kipor Ti3000 very quiet, runs my A/C and is very inexpensive ($1250.00) but downside is its heavy unit 100lbs or so... Welcome to the forum! There are lots of experts here and I am learning every day.

I got a Yamaha 2400is about 2 months ago. I have been able to power everything except the A/C. It has not been warm enough here to turn on the A/C. Another forum member said it powered their 15K A/C and if it does that it is a bonus. I tried my neighbors Honda 2000i and it struggled with the Half-Time oven in the microwave mode. It would not start it with the generator in eco mode, whereas the Yamaha didn't have a problem. I didn't want to have to go outside to take the Honda off of eco just to use the microwave.
Tha Yamaha is heavier, but manageable. I carry it in my front compartment. You can buy them for under $1100 from various internet dealers.

I've had mine a little over a year now, and it has performed very well. It is quiet, economical, and easy to start. It ran our 15K A/C effortlessly with an ambient temperature in the high 80's, but I haven't yet had an occasion to use it on a super hot day. It weighs around 75 lbs, so it can be moved around with some effort. After doing that for a while I put it on a slide-out tray in the port side compartment. Works well for me.
