Owner's Manual
This document is 80 pages of wasted paper. It is so generic it could have any RV manufacturer's name on the cover...would not make a bit of difference. Like most folks on this forum, this is the last of many RVs (and two boats) we have owned that have had the electical systems, water systems, propane systems and all the other things that, to a new RVer can be very confusing. To a new RVer, this manual is worthless...other than to cause even more confusion. Keystone needs to look at a Honda Accord owner's manual. It has pictures for each and every explanation, including different photos for each engine (V6 or 4) and body style.
I don't buy that they make too many RVs to make specific manuals for each. If they are charging $60k+ for a rig...they can take the time and expense to prepare a decent manual.

I would really like to see schematic diagrams as well...
I agree, the owner's manual is pretty much worthless

Yes, some basic blueprint would be nice so we could tell where the screw that just pulled out really should go.

I don't like to agree with anything that Rich says but I gotta go with him on this one. I mean you know - him being one of them retired FAA guys and me being a use to be pilot.
If Keystone has so many changes why don't they just put it on-line available by VIN number or something. I know the Heavy Duty Trucking industry is that way - Volvo, International, Kenworth - you go into their web site with model and VIN numbers to see how truck was built and what systems were installed.

One of our greates disappointments with our new late 2006 3400RL is the owners manual. I would describe it as "close to worthless". It is almost criminal that a company that sells a product for the kind of money these sell for doesn't supply an appropriate manual. However, until sales suffer or we make enough noise I doubt seriously if it will change anytime soon.

A note on the owners manual The manual on our 1996 Terry TT(that was 10 years ago) was just as useless.That not a excuse that is just the RV industry and how much they have not changed.

I'd also like to see more detail specific to our Montana, but.... The manual we have at least provides a lot of info, like on winterizing, sanitizing tanks, etc., that many people would not otherwise know how to do. So I could not way ours is worthless. It's just less specific to our rig than I would like. But it's a whole lot more than we ever got from any other manufacturer, so that is a start.
See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!

It sounds like what we are looking for here is a set of shop manuals like the Auto/Truck manufacturers offer. I always get a set of them although they are very expensive they are woth the dollars. However..with as many changes that are made during the year it would be nearly impossible to stay current.

All I would like to see is something in the form of a manual that is as simple as the one we get with our trucks. They need to be model specific. A classic example of confusion would be some poor new to RVing owner trying to figure out the panel on the left side in the basement that contains the winterization accessories, power water fill, tank flushing system, three female hose connections, outside water faucet, and more. No where in the manual is this mentioned except sporadically in various chapters...it could be an entire chapter.

Something as simple as telling us there is a galley drain and where it is or that the washer drains into the black tank would have been nice for these newbies.

I have Two stickers in my W/D closet, one says the drain goes directly to the valve, the other sticker says it goes into the Grey tank! I guess they want to have you wondering. (It goes to the valve.)
