Power awning LED lights

I've got a 2015 3610RL with a Dometic 9100 series power awning. It has an LED light strip/tape just below the awning track mounted to the RV. I love it except the brightness. Sometimes I feel like I'm in a tanning booth it's so bright. It's operated from a rocker switch inside the electrical panel and I assume it's 12 volt although I haven't tested it. Has anyone found a suitable dimmer switch or resistor that will take the edge off the brightness? I'm hoping to put the dimmer where the rocker switch is.

Andy

That is a first from all the folks that I have met that have them at the campgrounds that they are too bright Most of us like them but yes it is a 12 volt LED strip but no worries for you in a few months they will start burning/dimming out one LED at a time and then it will be just right for ya

I just got through pulling that annoying BRIGHT BUG ATTRACTING LED light that comes stock on a friends new fiver and replaced it with the mulit colored and dimmable LED's like some of us have on our older fivers. The 12VDC source is already there from the old strip. I mounted the antenna receiver in the awning arm holder that bolts to the side wall. It works great ... using the remote, you can do any and all functions available. He uses the orange color dimmed down a bit ... still good light and less bugs.

Get the lights off ebay? Are the lights selling for ~25 dollars ok or do you need to spend more to get good ones?

25 Bucks??? the cheapest I have seen on Ebay is the 54 bucks I spent on my 16 ft replacement NON Remote WATERPROOF LED strip but anyway my Ebay single Blue LED strip for 54 bucks is still working good after 2 years and here they are http://www.ebay.com/itm/281392833292...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT and also like deiselguy says you can buy one's with a remote that change color and Dim the lights as well for the Older Folks that do not like them too bright ]

I have these and have helped put them on a couple of friend's campers. They've lasted well. You need to peel the adhesive backing off and use 3M auto trim tape though.

They will fit right in the track as a replacement of many of the newer campers with the Bright White awning lights. When you do order ... make sure they are outdoor rated. The super cheap ones are for indoor use only.
