Dryer vent location
I have a 2008 3400 RL. I just got my Splendide W/D combo and would like to install the dryer vent. Needless to say, I'm a little hesitant to start punching holes in the wall. I know that many of you have already "been there, done that", and I would like to get some EXACT measurements from some of you. Pics would be great too. You can PM me and I can get you my phone number if we need to talk about it. Thank you all, in advance for your assistance. Man, I love this forum.

Semper Fidelis Bob,
If your in an area where you have dew on the ground you can validate the location your self. The beam structure in the walls show up when there is dew on the sides of the trailer.
Second option is to call the service center and get measurements from them if you don't get a reply from members.
Good luck and safe towing.

Don't know if it will help, but here is a pic of the dryer vent location on our 2007 3400RL. This is for a stackable unit, but the lateral location should still apply
On edit, I see yours is a combo, which would move the vent lower since if you read the installation manual, the vent tubing should be at or lower than the outlet location on the unit itself.

I would call Keystone Customer service to get an exact location for you model.

Keystone CS says "feel around on the inside wall until you think you've avoided the studs, then drill a hole large enough to shine a flashlight into to see if you've screwed up, and proceed with a larger hole if you haven't". Sorry DQDick, think I'll wait until I get a legitimate answer from an MOC'er that has some experience in this area. I don't think Keystone HAS exact measurements on the location of the dryer vent (or anything else for that matter).
I can't seem to find anything in my Splendide Manual, or the service manual that requires the vent to be installed lower than the outlet on the machine either. Bingo, can you please expand on your response?

On my 3400 RL I drilled above the stackable set and it was fine, I will see if I can get you a picture. You can't go wrong really, there is nothing close to the spot that it goes. Trust me, I have drilled and cut so many holes in mine I am thinking of naming it swiss cheese...

I remember that the vent tube is recommended to be either horizontal or sloping down. The reason is that it is not a household dryer and the air velocity is not near the same (120V). An extended uphill slope for the exhaust vent will result in the possibility of excessive lint build-up which creates a fire hazard. I think from my picture, you can line up the location as compared to the door, measure from a common point (door frame) and check the inside location since it will be relatively close to floor level in the washer/dryer closet. Mark the location on the outside of the rig and to be safe as John stated, look at it in the morning dew and you will be able to see the wall stud locations. Hope this helps.

Rob: I am not sure if exact measurements will help you or get you in to trouble as no two trailers are exactly the same it seems.
When I was installing ours I was sure I read somewhere that the exterior exhaust vent should be installed horizontal to or lower than the exhaust vent on the machine. Ours is horizontal to, not higher, not lower. In that case the center of the drilled hole would be 22.5 inches up from the closet floor. Also the length of the venting should be as short as possible. I would do as others have said and look at the exterior wall of that closet area on a moist cool morning and you will clearly see the outline of the vertical studs. Measure from say the exterior door frame to those two studs and like wise inside and find the open space that would be just behind the installed washer. JMHO.

Just thought of something Rob, although it is really safe to drill on that wall about anywhere, you can take a metal detector and run it along where you want to drill, it might work for you. Try it on a place you know there is a stud to get a baseline.

Great Idea Ozz. I'm pretty sure I can avoid a stud, but I'm concerned about the run for the electrical outlet on the exterior too.

I do not think there is any electrical on the wall side of the washer/dryer closet. Isn't the electrical outlet on the stair side of the closet? Ozz may know for sure, by now with his mod list, he has probably replaced all the interior walls!!

Keep in mind there may be a slight difference in the build from year to year, it's possible no two year's models are exact.
I would think my 07 would be closer than the 2010, but that is a guess.
If it were me, and I could, I would center rather than hug the wall close.
