It Are Fixed

Well, the rig is fixed and I will post pics of the repairs and prep as soon as I get the rig level again so I can open the slides and get the card reader for the camera. If anybody has a rig problem in northern Wisconsin contact Robert's Repair service in Rhinelander. Kevin made two trips up here to Land O Lakes, first to look at it and next to do the job. Each trip was 50 miles one way. All that travel and the welding and it was a total of 80 bucks. I told him I had a buddy named Oz that did work like that out in KC. Amazing guy, needless to say I thanked him profusely. I did a lot of prep. I removed the entire belly panel in that area along with the spare tire rack so there was nothing burnable in the area. I also used the dremel tool with cutting wheels to cut the old welds and pry the old bracket off. Kevin did the rest of the prep with his 4 inch grinder. link for pics

I'd send him a case of beer and let everyone know about him.

He doesn't drink but I will be singing his praises for a long time. He told me that if I get the reinforcing plates and gussets he will weld them for 100 bucks as we head for the rally. Oh I wanted to let you all know that if you have not taken your belly pan down and reinstalled it by yourself DON'T. It is a whole easier with a helper, but even then is it now EASY. The hardest part is getting the holes in the cross members to line up. I got it back up but it was no place for a youngster's ears. Tomorrow I will reinstall the spare tire carrier. That is another item that needs two people to install. But Betsy's back is not great so I will just have to build shoring to hold one end up while I do the other...

Glad to see you got the hangers fixed and what service. You can't beat that. Traveling the distance the repair guy did and then the work for $80. Good luck on the reassembly.

Dave,
Here's a hint, take the spare off the carrier before reinstalling.
