Firestone/Air Lift air bags
I got a long email today from e-trailer, telling me that on the 2010 Ford F-350, I can not put the Firestone Ride Rite or the Air Lift air bags, IF I have the RP50082 5th wheel bracket kit. This is the one that mounts to the outside frame, and used a couple "U" bolts, and a large bolt that holds the bracket to the frame.
My question is does anyone dispute this? They also said the only air bags I could use are the Timbren because they mount to the original bumper nut.

Timbren is not an airbag system, it is a rubber bump stop support system, not saying one is better then the other. I had airbags(Firestone) on my Dodge Ram, just installed Timbren on my Chevy 3500HD and have not pulled with it yet, however, the ride is great with the Timbren's, they have no effect on stock ride, they do not make contact until weight is added to the bed. I have 40 gallon transfer tank, tool box, B&W Hide a Ball with Companion, so I have some weight when running daily. Time will tell if it will be air or rubber.

Although an older truck ... this is a photo of my air lifts ... perhaps this will explain their response if it is correct. This is passenger side with forward to your right.

I just happened to talk with Truck N Thunder in Falmouth, VA re air bags, this afternoon and they can order and install for my 2011 dually no problem. I did not ask the brand, but intend to have installed next month, $500 for the kit and three hours to install.

$500 installed is a good price. Does that include a compressor and in-cab controller or are you going to do the manual route?
My system was $1,100 installed which was rear air bags, and plumbing/wiring to support a frame mounted compressor and a digital in-cab controller to allow side to side inflation/deflation.

I decided I dont need a compressor. Air line will be installed and run to the rear bumper, and I will use my AC compressor to fill/adjust, just like I do my tires. $495 was the kit, not installation, which I was told would take three hours. I will install myself.

The problem is that supposedly the Air Lift and Firestone air bags will not install on the 2010 frame if the frame mounted bracket for the 5th wheel hitch is used. The bracket for the hitch mounts a little different on the 2010 then it does on the '08 and '09. So I'm told.
