Wasp Prevention Tactics

I know this subject exists because I made a post several months ago, but cannot locate it.

Didn't someone mention that you can put a can of moth balls inside the refrigerator vent compartment to keep away wasps and hornets?

I'd sure like to hear from whomever on the success of that, or whatever other methods ya all use for pest prevention.

We use this in our vehicles if they are parked outside around here to keep the pack rats out. Put mothballs in panty hose and tie it to something under the hood. It's amazing the damage those little dudes can do. At this park there have been two Class A fires in the last 20 years due to rats and several TV's and class A's that couldn't move until $500 or more in wire damages were repaired.

I use the wire mesh covers on the HWH and Furness openings, on the refrigerator openings i use / made barriers out of nylon drywall joint tape. Just cut to fit and glue in place. The wire ones on the HWH and furness I use the two little springs to hold in place and then caulk the edges to hold them secure. I have never had a bug of any kind in there or spider.

I also went with the wire mesh covers. I got mine when I bought the Monte for the refer vents, hot water heater vent, and furnace vent. They were easy to install and have lasted for 4 years so far.

I use the wire mesh vent covers for furnace and water heated vents and formed my own for the refer vents. They are held in place with hot glue.
