Zaxis

Back in '08 I think there was a guy that made the Zaxis remote control for front landing legs, some of us bought them. I got one donated for the Branson rally and Mudchief and I installed it for the lottery winner. One of my relays has bad contacts, I will take it apart and see if I can fix it, but my question is, does anyone have one they haven't used, or a take-off?
Dennis has one as well. The guy also made a cube that controlled the lights on the trailer when not connected to the Tow vehicle.
He is out of business now.
Thanks!

Ozz, I have a Zaxis I installed back in 2002 on my Montana. Had some problems with the relay sticking and sent it back to him and he rebuilt the whole thing and sent it back.(He did have a small charge) I am having problems again and I sent him an email a few months ago and he said send it back and he would take a look at it. I have never opened it since he says he will not work on it if it has been opened.
I now have it on the Big Sky.
The company is Westhaver Assoc. but I think he gave up on the Zaxis when he tried to sell it to Keystone and they took the idea and built their own.

Good info, I wonder if he has any laying around. I will call him and ask. I don't really want to send it back, hopefully I can fix or replace the relay. It is a nice unit. Too bad Keystone did that to him. He is a nice guy.

I know he had parts but not sure about a complete unit. He is a consultant engineer now.

Interesting, I have never had problems with arcing with any of my relays or contactors, some are 100 amp plus draws,if the relay is properly sized with the right coil, there should not be any arcing.

Well, I just learned something. Thanks for the link.
I haven't experienced many problems with the DC, but the Lion's share of my work has been A.C.

That happens a lot. Did you ever here of the 204 Ruger? In my opion. They stoled that from a friend of mine. Todd Kindler developed the 20 caliber. Had the first barrels made the bullet jackets, had the first bullet dies made, made the first bullets. Then developed his 204 Vartar and sent it to Ruger. They liked it so much they named it the 204 Ruger, and now claim it was their first cartridge. They did make a couple changes, but it is essentially Todd's work. Like Todd's wife said "Get over it"
