Yorks, grass and the Holiday Express, Goshen

Some of you know, that Al and I had Montana in to the repair facility in Goshen after the Rally in Bremen last September. I was sharing this story with another MOC member lately, and thought maybe some of you might enjoy hearing it too. This is supposed to be humorous!!

OK, we ended up in Holiday for one night,

So, we get our gear, and head over to the hotel, it is late, like 7:30 or so??? We go to check in, reminding the clerk we have 4 yorks. then the stuff started happening!

OHHHHH, no, she says, NOOOOO dogs in this hotel. We sweetly and quietly look at her and repeat, KEYSTONE, and yes you do allow dogs. OHHHHH, NOOOOOOO, we don't she says. Al leans over and quietly firmly says to her, CALL YOUR BOSS!!

So, she does, her end of the conversation went like this: yes, yep, yes, yep, yes, yes, yes. etc...............................

She hangs up, looks around the lobby to see if there was anyone listening, leans over and whispers, OKKKK, but you have to sneak them in the back door!

I had to restrain myself from hysterical laughter.

So, we sneak them in, no big deal DUHHH

We go to the room, it stinks, it is supposed to be a non-smoking room, only someone smoked in there, I am highly allergic, was gagging. I throw open the window and hang there gasping the fresh air, while Al calls the front desk. There is, of course, no other room they can put us in, but they have this smell machine?? Takes the smells out, noisy, and only partially effective. After about an hour we turn off cause the noise is about to drive us out of what we have left of our minds.

We order pizza, we are starved, it is very expensive, so we opt out of all the goodies we want for a pepporni pizza, that alone was like $9.00??? cannot remember exactly but expensive! I go downstairs, no pizza man, I don't want him to come to the room and set the yorks into a barking frenzy (remember we snuck them in). Come back to the room, go back down, meet Mr. Pizza man getting on the elevator, pay him, take my pizza and return to the room, open it and there are like 6 items on this pizza, it is a $15.00 pizza. Pitty the pour dude that got our $9.00 one and paid $15.00!

I go to the pop machine, punch in diet, get a full sugared full blast cola. Figures.

Manage to keep the dogs very quiet, now, we have 2 boys, 2 girls, sadly, my 2 girls fight, and will draw blood. It is not a good situation, but we have come up with methods of controling it most of the time. One thing I never do is walk them at the same time. But, at 4 AM when they all need to go potty and we are on the 3rd floor of this hotel and I have to walk ALL the way down and ALL the way up, cause we are sneaking them in and out, I take all four on leashes and down we go to go potty.

The day before, they cut the grass, with a mulcher, there are grass clippings all over the place, about 3 inches long. Ohhh, did I mention that the yorks are in FULL coat, to the ground, not tied up, which, ohhhh, did I mention show coat acts like a magnet to all those grass clippings??? Tee heee. Well, we all do the potty thing, I get them all back up stairs without a fight, we climb back into bed and fall right to sleep.

Next, comes about 7 AM and it is time to get up and face the new day. We climb out of bed open the drapes and find grass clippings ALL OVER THE ROOM!!! In the shower (this is a room with a handicapped shower, they can just walk right in, no lip), on the bathroom floor, on the carpet, all over the bed! Looked like we brought the entire lawn in with us on those show coats!

I'll leave it to your imagination as to what that clerk said when we whispered at check out about the mess they had in that room!

OH Carol! This is just too funny, I can just see those little darling Yorkies running all around the room spreading the cut grass while you and AL was asleep. Thanks for sharing this story.

Linda,

We laugh hard everytime we remember it! Only, if I had had the presence of mind to take a PHOTO! (chuckle)

Those are our precious granddaughters. We just spent a week camping with them and had a wonderful time. Greta made sure she was still top dog....crawled over the arm of the chair into her rightful place! Such fun!

Great story. Loved it! Sounds a lot like our two Schnauzers but double. LOL
I can relate to the barking frenzies. LOL
We also travel with a big tom kitty and you should see the looks we get at RV parks when we walk all three!
