Awning LED Ribbon Lights

I have a 2015 3100RL, recently I noticed the awning lights were very dim. Actually only the first LED was fully illuminated all the rest were very dim. Wiring and strip itself looks okay. Anybody experienced this problem and how did you correct it? The dealership wants $250 to replace the strip because it's part of the awning. I can buy, through Amazon, a replacement strip for $20, but am a little concerned about the self adhesion withstanding the wind generated by driving. Any previous experiences, that will help?

Our 2014 did that plus you could see sagging in places. At the rally last year Keystone had our dealer replace the strip even though we were out of warranty. Are you going to the rally?

Lots of us have bought the $20 led strip lights off EBay and attached them to the sides of our RVs with 3M double backed automotive trim tape found at Wally World or auto parts stores. The tape that comes on those strips just doesn't perform, so we strip that off and use the 3M tape. If you do order the LED light strips, be sure they are outdoor rated ... some aren't.

Interested in adding the LED strip. How did you get the 12V needed? also if switched where did you mount switch? Possible 12V from porch light and operate it from porch light switch?

Paul ... I had a post about powering the LED's 6th response down. http://www.montanaowners.com/forums/...ad.php?t=66940 Others have tapped into the porch light, but it wasn't in a favorable spot for me.
