CG Recommendations in NH Tamworth

One of our favorite places to stay is Chocorua (CHO-Coo-Roou-AH) Camping Village KOA. It is right on RT 16 and about 10 miles south of Conway NH.

The campground has a variety of sites, all wooded and is nestled in Pines, birches, and oaks. The campground occupies one side of Moore's pond, has 5 miles of hiking trails, great activities for kids and adults.

Our large Montana's fit on certain sites and the campground staff will ensure you don't find your self in a site that you are not going to fit in. Your best bet are the "Super" sites that are on the edge of the pond. Lee and Shirley Spenser (owners) started putting these in a number of years ago and they are a hit and my favorite

They are the 40 series sites 42, 44, 46, 48, and 50. They are spacious, again surrounded in trees, sandy ground and come with a deck, picnic table, gas grill chairs and glass top patio table and a fire pit. Birds, chipmunks, Red Squirrels, and Mallard ducks are commonly seen.

Site 44

Additional big rig sites are 77, 79, 81, 83, 85, 87, and 89. To get to these sites requires looping around the center of the campground through a narrow tree lined road. There is plenty of room for me to get my 3750FL through. But you must mind your corners and swing wide. Once into the pull through site area there is plenty of room.

Site 77

The campground has Doggy Day care with a large (very Large) fenced in area that you can let your pup run amok in. If you're going to be gone for the day, drop your pet off with the attendant. the other dogs that come down to play or stay end up running, playing and drinking a lot of water. By the time you get back, they'll be ready for a nap!

Check out the campground Web page here.

See you there!
