Powdery mildew?
For the first time in 6 years, when I went down to the rig in it's storage bay to start getting ready for a trip next week, I found white powdery stuff that I think is mildew all over the wooden surfaces in the kitchen and living room areas. Did not seem to be any in the bath or bedroom. The trailer has been sitting idle since mid August, but has had some much longer periods of inactivity with nothing like this happening. It is under a solid roof, out of the weather when in storage. What should I look for as a cause, and what should I do for prevention once I get it cleaned up??

I would think a prime candidate would be Humidity/moisture particularly since you are in Florida. Most of our friends who store their rigs in our park in Florida over the summer use Dry-aid and other products to combat mold and mildew.

You will need something to remove the moisture. I found this and it can be reused. It doesn't require power while in use. You only plug it in to remove the moisture it has collected.

It may also be related to the glaze or shellac on the cabinets. Our new rig is experiencing this at various times. It would seem odd that it would occur on a rig that is not new, but it sounds similar to what we are seeing. If it was mildew, I would not think it would limit itself to wooden surfaces.

That's exactly what I would think too, after living here almost all of my 65 years, however we've had the trailer for 6 years, it has been stored in the same place for 5, we have had much longer stretches of inactivity, it's only been 2 months since our last trip, so why now?
