Dometic 310 & 320 - What's the Difference?

My Thetford tried to flood us out again yesterday. That will be the last time. I see you folks talking about Dometic 310 and 320 models. What are the differences between the two? I can see the price differs and it appears the 320 has an elongated bowl. What else?

If you don't care for the elongated bowl of the 320, the wood seat assembly can be bought for the 310 to replace the standard plastic seat. So far, the plastic seat works well after about nine months. You will not regret tossing the Thetford. Even though, we never had a flood, the cheap design of the Thetford was a constant worry after the pedal flew off late one night.

Let me add a question. I looked closely at the 310 and 320 at CW next to a Thetford display of a toilet that looked like the one in my 3402RL. I'm not sure that the 320 could fit in my toilet room because the position of the vertical waste pipe. Has anyone replaced the 2014 3402RL standard toilet with a Dometic??

That was my worry when I had my 3402RL and that is why I went with the 310 and it worked out great except I had to buy a 1FT flexable 1/2in hose and a female to female adapter for one end because the Thetford water inlet is up high and the Dometic is low and also you have to use the old Thetford gasket because the Dometic is shaped different and also you get a little extra room in the POO POO closetwith the 310 because it is a skinnier design

I did find where the mounting offset is different between the two. The 310 needs a minimum of 10" vs. the 320 with 11" from the wall to the center of the drain pipe.

Took the Thetford out, installed the Dometic 310, and the only thing I needed to do was pull the Pex line up a bit through the hole in the floor, and connected it to the inlet on the new toilet. I guess I was lucky, not having to extend the Pex.

Yeah I was able to pull the pex line up more and made it work for a week or so but it was at a weird angle and started to leak so that is why I went with the flex extension to make the connection straight on and all is good now
